Harmony Edosomwan is a disruptor by trade and a healer by nature. Long before capturing the national title of Miss Black USA, the Bronx-born, Nigerian-American powerhouse was already on the ground rewriting the script on how modern Black women reclaim space, power, and community wellness. She doesn’t just step up to a platform—she builds her own.

Her journey is a masterclass in the revolutionary power of visibility. Recognizing that systemic inequities require equally bold, localized resistance, Harmony turned a personal passion into Harmony’s Kitchen. As the founder and executive chef of the premier Afrofusion culinary enterprise, she actively uses food justice as a vehicle for communal love. By blending traditional Southern comfort with ancestral Nigerian and Puerto Rican flavors, Harmony transforms the kitchen into a sanctuary for cultural education, nutritional equity, and economic sovereignty.

Now, she is taking her grassroots blueprints and weaponizing her national platform to confront the ultimate human rights issue of our time: the protection of Black mothers. As the leading national voice for the "Not Just Jasmine" Maternal Health Initiative—a historic partnership between the Miss Black USA Organization and the National Alliance of Faith and Justice (NAFJ), Harmony is directly tackling the institutional healthcare bias that leaves Black women facing disproportionately higher maternal mortality rates.

For Harmony, the crown is a megaphone, not an accessory. By intersecting the politics of food security with medical equity, she is demanding systemic safety and bodily autonomy for Black women nationwide. Backed by a competitive prize package that includes a full law school scholarship to fund her future work as a policy attorney, Harmony Edosomwan is defining her reign through structural legacy, policy disruption, and an unyielding commitment to the preservation of Black life.
