Kelsi Horn - Activist, Solopreneur, & Celebrity Advocate for the Heart Truth Campaign

Miss Black Michigan Kelsi Horn is a Detroit native and graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising & Public Relations. She is an activist, entrepreneur, and advocate for mental health. Kelsi is currently the owner of a luxury event planning company. While at MSU, she served as President of The Black Student Alliance. There she worked directly with administration to improve retention rates among African American students and bring awareness to sexual assault on campus.

Kelsi is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and local mentoring organizations in her community. Politically involved she has experience working with local and federal politicians on various initiatives including raising awareness of the water crisis in Flint.

She considers herself to be a thrill seeker and travel enthusiast. Kelsi has traveled to eight countries and enjoys skydiving, zip lining, hiking, and mountain climbing. Her love for the stage started at an early age after numerous dance and music recitals. During her reign, she will serve as a Celebrity Advocate for the Heart Truth Campaign to raise awareness of heart disease, the leading cause of death of women in the U.S.
