Monika is no stranger to pagentry or leadership. The Benedict College senior Mass Communications major has been no stranger to leadership on the campus; upon her arrival in the fall of 2006 she was crowned Miss Freshman 2006-2007, 1st attendant to Miss National Council of Negro Women and also played a lead role in the musical Dreamgirls. In Miss McGee’s sophomore year she served as the sophomore class secretary. Miss McGee is involved in many campus organizations such the Pre Alumni Council, National Council of Negro Women, The Leadership Development Institute, Peer Mentor and is a member of School of Honors. During the 2008 election, Monika was passionate about the historic moment and played an active role in the BC Tigers for Obama campaign. She canvassed and worked phone banks in South Carolina and Georgia. Monika currently serves as Miss Homecoming 2008-2009.
The proud resident of Indianapolis, Indiana is a 2006 graduate of Broad Ripple High School. While in high school, she was a part of many community initiatives, such as Top Teens of America, Willing to Wait, Ladies Varsity Golf at BRHS, Center for Leadership Development, and an active member of Northside New Era Baptist Church.
Monika’s hobbies include singing, playing the violin, golf, and pageants. Upon Graduation from Benedict College, Miss McGee plans to pursue master’s degree in Communications. Monika Sheri McGee is a proud resident of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is the daughter of Monica Woods and Granddaughter of Isabell Roberts.
